I’m in my blog, breaking my formatting

Just playing around with the columns (it’s a little cramped for my tastes) but I haven’t changed the wallpaper to suit it, so it’ll look a bit fucked up for a while. Apologies to those running 800 x 600 resolutions, but it won’t fit nicely in your screens. Welcome to the Internet.

Just had a go at Slay’s new Wii, and I must say that while it is kinda fun, it just feels a bit…sloppy. Not in terms of graphics (I mean, it was never meant to be a photorealisitc games console), but even in terms of controls - a game controller is meant to give the user unprecedented control of the subject on-screen. Yes, it is an innovative concept and we are all dancing around getting a nice workout, but you find yourself doing awkward movements to pull off the actions you want. Activities that need a level of precision, like the boxing and the baseball games, don’t translate well with the Wii remotes, which have far too much freeplay in the control.

And no, it is not because I’m uncoordinated. I swear. emoticon

But, it’s still pretty good fun nonetheless. Gutsy move to bring something like this out on the market. Hopefully they’ll release some revisions that fine tune it even further. As always, don’t be swayed by the hype. Egh, I just got reminded of the PS3 fanboyism that is already plaguing several forums. I’m already hearing phrases like "Unbeatable" and "HAY GUYS PS3 IS WNINAR M$ AND WEE ARE TEH LOOSE". Oh well, I’m sure I’ll understand once I get around to purchasing one.

Which won’t be any time soon. emoticon
