azn pride is a group of lions speaking engrish
The office was flooded today because some bright soul left the dishwasher on last night, so I went for a swim (har har har) and had lunch at Eastwood afterwards.
I was thinking of checking out an electronics store to get a decent power-board, when I remembered that the Tandy had closed due to lack of interest. That’s fair enough, I’ll drop into Target instead…oh wait, Target has been replaced with a $2 shop.
As I thought about it, I realised that Eastwood was gradually becoming more and more Asian by the day. It’s not a bad thing - it gives the place personality. However, what Eastwood makes up for in terms of personality, it lacks in the variety of services it provides. Before there was a nice smattering of shops available - BBC Hardware, Target, KFC, McDonalds…even an Arts and Crafts shop. But as the years dragged on, more asian retailers moved in with bakeries, video rental shops, hairdressers, $2 stores, asian butchers and asian restaurants. Sweet Jesus, the number of restaurants that are in Eastwood…even the Carpet Court has been replaced with a steamboat restaurant, and our old nemesis Granny’s Chicken has turned into an asian BBQ joint. There’s also talk of having the former Target being turned into another asian Food Court or something.
But I’d be wrong to say that there are only asians in Eastwood…I’m sure there are plenty of Middle Easterns there as well just out to "have a good time"
After reading this Dan’s data article, I think I should have bought that cheapo powerboard instead of looking at stuff like this.
