Links on Tuesday
Behold:
- Tim Sweeney from Epic says that 512mb of RAM in your video card will help with games (from Epic, at least). There’s also another link on the page about him talking about Quad-core vs. Dual-core in games. I still can’t get over the fact that now we’re talking about four cores in a CPU with a completely straight face. I’m so stuck in the 90’s.
- Oh Jesus, they might be making Perfect Dark 2. And that screenshot reeks of emo. "It’s your unlucky day I’m not turning this gun on myself."
- Some Need for Speed: ProStreet screenshots for Xbox 360, and also for PS3.
- The Cthulhu-esque entity that is EA has recently acquired BioWare and Pandemic studios, both of KOTOR and Full Spectrum Warrior fame respectively. We’re soon just going to have a small, controlled number of juggernaut developer / publisher houses with extraordinarily long names.
- Metal Gear Solid 4 has an army of over 200 developers. Just one hundred short of a Spartan army.
- The weapons list for Call of Duty 4 has been leaked on Evil Avatar.
- Orange Box tops the Xbox 360 charts, while Jericho takes top dog in PS3, according to the latest GameFly rankings.
- Hitachi has promised 4TB hard drives by 2011. I’ve still got my 500mb hard drive nearby. Sick.
- A bit of a scare article on the Wii popularity bubble bursting. Given that September saw Wii sales fall sharply in Japan for the second consecutive month, it seems reasonable to speculate that the bubble inflated by the novelty factor is starting to deflate, but writing Nintendo off at any stage is a perilous course to steer.
