Not a bad party last night…except this morning my voice was practically gone.
Futurelooks has listed the Top 10 Best Fighting Games of All Time. Just as well that they included Samurai Shodown - you’d never hear the end of it from me if it wasn’t included. It’s actually inspiring me to dig out the old MAME emulator…
Some figures on Mass Effect. I do believe I’ll be pre-ordering this today.
Another piece of EvAv news: looks like Sony may be wanting to join the crowd of failing consoles, according to a Belgian games retailer. 091107: The site that posted the info took it back. Yay for rumour mill.
God of War III is going to be PS3 exclusive. After losing Ace Combat, you’d hope that they’d keep this big-ticket item. Personally, I never did get into it because it just felt like DMC without the guns…I think I may need to spend a weekend at Chop’s to prove myself wrong.
Eurogamer has some first impressions on the Assassin’s Creed final release. One thing that confuses me even to this day is the concept of "gentlemen brawling" - the developers for The Chronicles of Riddick stated that they used a system of enemies engaging one after another whenever the player had to engage in hand-to-hand combat. Will they have the same thing for Assassin’s Creed, or will it be like the later Prince of Persia titles where they strike simultaneously (albeit in slow motion)?
Some sobering news: Atari reported a $12m Q1 loss. According to 1UP, this follows "a $69.7 million dollar deficit" after it submitted its annual reports when threated with a NASDAQ de-listing notice. With games like The Witcher, Tomb Raider, Pro Evo Soccer, Ace Combat, Silent Hill, Clive Barker’s Jericho, Kane & Lynch etc. it’s kind of hard to believe.
YouGamers has posted an article about how much video RAM you really need. Depends how big a penis you’d want, I suppose.
