On Relationships

This was originally a comment on JT’s post about relationships, but it was getting out of control and I wanted to keep all my thoughts in a single post.

  1. I think functional relationships are great for us as a society. If it didn’t work for my parents, I wouldn’t exist. Can’t argue with that.
  2. Even dysfunctional relationships aren’t all that bad - at least you learn what not to do for next time.
  3. At this present point in time, a relationship isn’t as important to me as other things in life. Maybe when I get older I’ll change my tune, but for now it isn’t exactly high up on the priority list. I can imagine it’d be very important to some people. Some mates of mine are incredibly surprised that I’m not even trying and not giving this the attention it deserves (or something like that).
  4. I don’t know what JT meant when he said that I believed relationships and dating were "overrated" (his post is missing a word so I can’t interpret the meaning adequately). See above points.
So get a relationship if you want - but don’t assume I will because you tell me to. ;)
